What You’ll Do?
- Deliver safe, reliable, and friendly service to passengers on every flight
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure compliance with FAA regulations
- Handle onboard service, including snacks and beverages, with a genuine smile
- Assist passengers with luggage, seating, and special needs — including children, elderly travelers, and those requiring additional assistance
- Remain calm and professional when faced with unexpected challenges or medical situations
- Collaborate closely with pilots and fellow crew members to ensure smooth flight operations
- Uphold Mesa Airlines’ professional appearance and performance standards at all times
Training & Base Assignment
All new hires will complete comprehensive initial training before being assigned to one of our current crew bases: Washington, D.C. (IAD), Houston, TX (IAH), or Louisville, KY (SDF). Base assignments are determined by operational needs and seniority.
Who We’re Looking For?
We’re seeking individuals who are dependable, confident, and have a natural ability to connect with others. A great Flight Attendant is more than a uniform — they’re someone who truly enjoys helping people, embraces teamwork, and thrives under pressure.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or two years of customer service experience preferred)
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid passport
- Must be able to travel freely to destinations served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Cuba
- Height between 4'11" and 6' (without shoes) and the ability to reach overhead compartments and emergency equipment
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and performing all safety and service duties
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must successfully pass FAA background checks, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol screenings
Compensation & Growth
Starting pay begins at $18.67 per flight hour, increasing to $20.24 after six months and $22.22 after one year, with regular annual raises thereafter. First-year Flight Attendants typically earn around $23,000 annually, with opportunities to increase income through additional assignments and performance incentives. You may also qualify for up to $500 extra per month through Mesa’s crash-pad assistance and hotel reimbursement programs.
